Dear Julia, I finally wanted to give you an example of the extraordinary food in Taiwan. I got this “platter” for breakfast on the east coast of Taiwan in a hotel run by indigenous inhabitants of the island. I couldn't believe my eyes when it was served to me. I counted over 20 different types of vegetables and fruits, plus beans, tofu, and mushrooms. It was amazing, and I ate everything and was then “set” for the whole day.
