@ThunderHoney Okay, now we're talking? How did you make your fufu? I ate quite a lot of this when I was in Togo in the 90s and it was definitely a surprise.

It's pretty labour intensive for sure! It's also a challenge working with unfamiliar ingredients- not having the same tactile memory - for example I can tell bread dough has been kneaded enough by feel and I am not that practiced with cassava. But I am enjoying the learning curve! Early on I came across a fufu recipe (for another country) that uses cassava flour instead of fresh cassava. I have the flour but haven't made it yet, it's meant to be a fantastic shoulder workout as it takes a long time to stir!
@ThunderHoney I tried to bring an ingame root home with me (which is about the size of a chunk of firewood) to try making my own Togolese fufu. Needless to say, customs in Washington was NOT amused by this.
